We are excited to begin the process of naming our new middle school. We need your help, When choosing a name please keep in mind that BP 7310: The Board shall name district schools and other district-owned or leased buildings, grounds, and facilities in recognition of:
1. Individuals and entities that have made outstanding contributions, including financial contributions, to the school community. 2. Individuals who have made contributions of statewide, national, or worldwide significance. 3. The geographic area in which the school or building is located.
Following the collection of suggestions from our Educational Partners the Board will follow the Board approved timeline:
November 2022: The board narrows down the selection to the Top 5 that meet the BP 7310 guidelines December 2022/January 2023: A citizens' advisory committee is appointed by the Board and Administration that has representation from parents, students, community members and district staff. This committee can be between 7-11 members and can select the top 2-3 choices. March/April 2023: According to BP 7310, a public hearing must be held to allow the public to provide input. May 2023: The Board adopts the name for La Paloma Middle School.
